De Chinese Wouden, woensdag 9 augustus: TSMC in Duitsland, zorgen economie China
Excuus voor nogmaals vertraging. Ik zat gisteren thuis met koorts. Het zal het regenachtige weer in Amsterdam afgelopen weekend wel zijn geweest. Nogmaals te laat komen ondanks zoveel nieuws is wel een beetje jammer.
De meeste aandacht gaat uit naar de aangekondige joint-venture van Taiwanese halfgeleiderfabricant TSMC met de Duitse bedrijven Bosch en Infineon en het Nederlandse NXP. Nu is eindelijke bevestigd dat deze bedrijven inderdaad een fabriek gaan bouwen in Dresden – voormalig centrum van de Oost-Duitse high-tech industriepolitiek – die vooral de autoindustrie zal moeten bedienen. Mathieu Duchâtel legt duidelijk uit, waarom dit nieuws ons in Europa geen economische soevereiniteit maar wel meer economische veiligheid oplevert.
Ondertussen zijn er toenemende zorgen over de Chinese economie. Nu gaat het ook over dalende handel, afnemende investeringen en zelfs deflatie. Bloomberg bericht ook over de effecten van Xi Jinpings focus op politiek op de financiële wereld.
