ASML is in het nieuws, omdat de jaarcijfers van 2022 een excellente kans zijn voor het bedrijf om de eigen boodschap aan de man te brengen, van RTL tot Bloomberg. Zoals de topman al zei in het NOS journaal woensdagavond, men doet zaken waar het wettelijk mag, want het bedrijf wil geld verdienen. Beperkingen op wat ze in China mogen verkopen bemoeilijken daarnaast ook het geldverslindende innovatiemodel van de halfgeleiderindustrie dat ik in een eerdere nieuwsbrief uitlegde. Natuurlijk wil ASML zich publiekelijk niet te veel vastleggen, want het heeft een boel regeringen te vriend te houden, aan alle kanten van dit debat. Maar wat ze het liefst willen moge duidelijk zijn.

De regering lijkt te reageren op onvrede onder het publiek door te proberen afstand te nemen van de reputatie voor ideologisch gepolitiseer die de DPP traditioneel heeft onder kiezers.
