De Chinese Wouden, donderdag 20 april, LAC-rapport beïnvloeding China, jaarverslag MIVD
Vandaag zijn er twee belangrijke rapporten te vermelden. Het jaarverslag van de MIVD maakt net als dat van AIVD melding van Chinese activiteiten. Het Leiden Asia Centre komt met het tweede onderzoek over beïnvloeding van China in de Chinese gemeenschap in Nederland. Ik moet nog gaan lezen, dus eerst over wat anders.
In de leninistische traditie van de Chinese partijstaat bedient men zich vaak van modellen. Modeldorpen dienen als voorbeeld voor andere bestuurders. Modelprojecten dienen als voorbeeld voor de correctie implementatie van een groots project. Modelkaders dienen als voorbeeld voor andere partijleden. Dit zie je ook vaak terug in de Chinese diplomatie, waar men graag specifieke landen en buitenlanders prijst om ze als voorbeeld voor te houden aan de zich minder goed gedragende buitenlanders.
Naast de recente lof voor Frankrijks president Emmanuel Macron vanwege zijn staatsbezoek en uitspraken en voor Europese Raadsvoorzitter Charles Michel, blijkt dat op de Chinese sociale media zelfs de positieve delen van de toespraken van Ursula von der Leyen dienen als welkom contrast met de verfoeide Grote Satan aan de andere kant van de Atlantische Oceaan. Ook hebben de Chinese diplomaten ook een aantal europarlementariërs uitgelicht rondom het recente debat in het Europees Parlement.
Eerder al was er veel aandacht voor de extreem-linkse Ierse europarlementariërs Mick Wallace en Claire Daly van I4C (GUE/NGL), die erom bekend staan regelmatige dictators aan te prijzen vanachter het blauwe spreekgestoelte. De Chinese ambassade in Brussel tweette een video waarin Daly in een video figureert die de leugen verspreidt dat katoen in Xinjiang volledig gemechaniseerd is. Ambassadeur Fu was blij te vernemen dat de eerste tattoo van Wallace – op werkbezoek in China – ‘geen oorlog’ was.
Gisteren kwam de Chinese ambassadeur in Brussel ook met een handig twitterdraadje om de modelwerkers uit te lichten. Dat waren Manu Pineda – van de Spaanse anti-NAVO-partij Izquierda Unida (GUE/NGL) – de Azerbeidzjan-vriend Jan Zahradil van het Tsjechische ODS (ECR) – en Milan Uhrik – van het extreemrechtse Slovaakse Republika (non-inscrits). Behulpzaam om te zien wie de diplomaat als vrienden van China ziet. Minder gehoorzaam was de Nederlandse europarlementariër Samira Rafaela D66 (Renew), die de Taiwanese vertegenwoordiger in Brussel trof.
